Board of Directors
What do we do?
The committee members of SIETAR UK work to represent the membership, and actively build bridges between the academic and practitioner worlds. We organise events and disseminate information that will benefit and entertain an ever increasing diversity of members.
We field enquiries from external organisations wishing to offer courses, events and information to our members. We liaise with associations in related fields - NLP, coaching, language teaching and international corporates.
Socially, our role is to make new members feel instantly at home. We offer them a warm welcome, modest guidance and a generous introduction to the world of culture and interculturalists.
Our main work centres on creating valuable and socially inclusive events that give access to the big names in culture, the big themes in culture and the difficult issues in culture.
Our main academic conferences held in autumn. The committee pick a cultural theme, ask for the submission of papers, select keynote speakers and coordinate the conference.
Committee membership is ratified by a vote at the annual general meeting. This is normally held after the “Business of Culture” event in spring.
If you are a hard-working, action-based interculturalist who can add value and energy to the committee, then we would like to hear from you. Please send us your profile or get in contact.
